Extreme Representin’- The Grenville Diptych

The 719 quarterings of the Grenville Armorial. Quartering is a form of marshalling- the art of correctly arranging armorial bearings (sometimes erroneously called “coats of arms”- which are correctly expressed in blazons, not marshals, duh) George Nugent-Temple-Grenville’s armorial bearings represent the extreme form of quartering, which is straight gangster bragging about inherited legacy. Grenville created The Order of St. Patrick in 1783.
